Becker College Recognized for Its Innovation

Published on Thursday, July 31st, 2014

Becker College was the subject of an op-ed in the July 31, 2014, issue of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. In “Becker opens new worlds,” columnist Albert B. Southwick writes how Becker, under the leadership of President Robert E. Johnson, Ph.D., has “transformed its mission into a new global concept of education especially designed to serve the needs of individual students in a fast-changing world.”

He cites the latest issue (Spring/Summer 2014) of the College’s magazine, Becker Bridges, and the story about Scott Tongue ’14, who developed a program using Oculus Rift technology while he was a Becker student (story can be found on pages 4-5). Southwick also mentions the College’s transformational growth, the national reputation of the game design program, MassDiGI, and the Center for Global Citizenship. “Innovation and entrepreneurship are the new bywords on the Becker campus,” he writes.
