Becker College goes to PAX East
Becker College will showcase its computer game development degree programs, as well as student and faculty work, at the Penny Arcade Expo, or PAX East, the three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers on March 26-28 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. On February 3, PAX East announced on its website, www.paxsite.com, that three-day passes were completely sold out.
“PAX East will be sold out, drawing gamers from far and wide, and it will help seal greater Boston’s reputation as a game development hub,” said Paul Cotnoir, chair of design programs at Becker. “Our mission is to become the pre-eminent, modern, multi-media design program in the country, and we are on our way. For budding game developers, their adventure starts at Becker College.”
Becker’s booth—games, music, artwork and give-aways—is being designed entirely by students and faculty. Visitors to the booth can enter raffles, score a bracelet with a USB drive attached with game links on it, including Becker’s www.gamingstudents.com, and a coupon code good for the waiver of the $35 Becker College application fee.
