A number of Becker College faculty members are publishing and presenting their expertise beyond the borders of greater Worcester.
James R. Belpedio, D.A., professor of history and government, has been informed by the Edwin Mellen Press, of Lewiston, N.Y., that his doctoral thesis, “Fact, Fiction, Film: Rex Beach and the Spoilers,” has been accepted for publication as a monograph by the Mellen Press.
Janardan Kumar, Ph.D., professor of microbiology and chemistry and chair of the Department of Natural Sciences, has been recognized as a reviewer in the theme issue, “Frontiers in Biological Sciences of Cellular and Molecular Biology,” published online at www.cellmolbiol.com. Dr. Kumar’s comments are included in the foreword to the issue. Dr. Kumar is also serving as a dissertation reviewer for a Ph.D. student at Gautam Buddh Technical University in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Adriano Marzullo, Ph.D., assistant professor of mathematics, published his paper, “On the Periodicity of the First Betti Number of the Semigroup Rings under Translations,” his first publication, in the Journal of the Ramanujam Mathematical Society.
Paul Prewitt-Freilino, Ph.D., director of institutional research, will present “Get in the driver’s seat: A dashboard for strategic enrollment management,” at the Association for Institutional Research 2013 AIR Forum, in Long Beach, Calif.
Anna Titova, Ph.D., assistant professor of mathematics and chair of the mathematics department, will present “Understanding Abstract Concepts in the Context of Abstract Algebra,” at the sixteenth annual Conference on Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education, which will take place February 21-23, 2013, in Denver, Colo.
