Awards Presented to Becker Athletic Hall of Famers
A full room celebrated the inducting of seven alumni into the Becker College Athletic Hall of Fame at a banquet last Friday, Oct. 17, at the Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston. After a social hour and dinner, over dessert Becker coaches and faculty helped present plaques to Matthew Chasse ’91, Karen Driscoll ’91, Heather Goss ’89, Kimberly (Koski) O’Donnell ’92, Robyn LeBel ’91, Robert Lindgren ’66 for the Hall of Fame, with special recognition given to the legendary Nick Manzello. Chasse was especially moved to accept the second generation of Hall of Fame Awards; his dad, Jack, had also been inducted, and he teared up when thanking him.
Gabe Simon ’51 also accepted the Distinguished Athletic Alumni Award, after which the audience was informed that forever more, this award will be known as the Gabe Simon Distinguished Alumni Award. Simon spoke of the gifts that were given to him by Becker, which has allowed him to become the success story he is today, and give many gifts back to the community.
