December 21 – Proposed Policy Plan Unveiled

Posted by Sandy Lashin-Curewitz on 12.13.10 in News, Uncategorized

This is it! Since October, a core working group made up of members of industry, academia and government, has developed a working draft of an innovative first-in-the-nation, comprehensive state-wide policy plan in support of the video game design and development industry in the Commonwealth. On December 21, we’d like to share this draft plan with you – at Becker’s Southborough Learning Center in Metrowest at 4:30 p.m. – and seek your input. Your attendance is critical our success.

Please join Becker College President Robert E. Johnson and lead participants Mike Cavaretta, U.S. Rep. James McGovern, Lieut. Governor Timothy Murray, State Rep. Vincent Pedone and Senior Innovation Advisor Eric Nakajima at MASS Impact 2.0 for what will be an important and exciting afternoon.

As you will see, the draft plan will extend support to all constituencies within the industry including indie developers, start-ups, small companies, large companies, investors, venture capitalists, higher education and industry-related professional services etc. Ultimately, it’s our hope that adoption of the plan will allow Massachusetts to more effectively create opportunity and compete for – and win – jobs in this growing sector of the economy.

Seating is limited so RSVP to massimpact@becker.edu. Feel free to pass this on to interested colleagues or friends. The meeting will be followed by a holiday party for all.
