Presidential Ambassador Profiles

Sarah Wise

Hometown: Galloway, N.J.

Major: Interior Design

Favorite Class: History of the Decorative Arts

What I love about Becker: I love the smaller class sizes.  You really get more one-on-one time with your professors. I also love the dedication the professors have to helping a student succeed.

I also Love: Food – Linguini with clams, chicken noodle soup, spinach and artichoke dip; Movies -Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Cheaper By the Dozen (The original); Books – Private series, To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Belles On Their Toes.

I am Listening to: All Time Low, Glory Days, The Maine, A Rocket to The Moon, Every Avenue.

I Volunteer for: The Salvation Army Disaster Service and United Way

Favorite Quote: “People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.”- Lewis Cass

After Graduation: I hope to find a job at an interior design firm, in either Boston, New York or Chicago.

Matthew Maroney

Hometown: Weymouth, Mass.

Major: Liberal Arts, English Minor

Favorite Class: American Literature

What I love about Becker: It would definitely be the size. Without Becker's inclusive learning programs and its manageable classes size I certainly would not be where I am today, on the brink of graduating.

I also Love: Food – chicken parmesean; Movie – Pulp Fiction; Author – Stephen King

I am Listening to: Pop-punk and hardcore music

Favorite Quote: “The universe is wider than our views of it.” Henry David Thoreau

After Graduation: I plan to move right on to graduate school for English or literature.

David Cordeiro

Hometown: Portsmouth, R.I.

Major: Game Development

Favorite Class: Intro to Game Development, where we made games and worked in teams.

What I love about Becker: The community, both of other students, and faculty. Walking around campus you really feel like you are part of a family.

I also Love: I like plain food, the more plain and starchy it is, the better; although my favorite movie varies by genre, I am frequently caught quoting Anchorman; I mostly read articles on the Internet, but if I do read a book it is usually fantasy.

I am Listening to: Daft Punk is my favorite music group and my favorite album is Discovery (obviously).

Favorite Quote: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”-Albert Einstein

After Graduation: I want to make games and simulations that can be used in education for a while. Eventually (very far down the road) I might start a high school based on my education theories with one of my friends who is also passionate about education.
