Carol Ried '56

Carol Ried '56As a former counselor in Becker College's Admissions Office, Carol Reid '56 experienced firsthand how essential closing the gap between financial aid and financial need is to Becker Students. Carol gave her time and support to the College as a member of the 2007-09 Becker Fund Committee in order to assist students financially.

In 2008 she became a Becker College corporator, committed to helping in the success of higher education. Her continued efforts and generous gifts to the Capital Campaign, “Transforming Lives through Education,” and a donation each year to Becker's Annual Fund, demonstrate her dedication to first-generation college students. “I received a wonderful education when I attended Becker, and it is important to me that I give back. I make a strong effort, especially during these troubling times, to provide financial assistance to promising college students who are serious about improving their lives through education.”

Now, more than ever, it is a significant challenge for most young people to pay the cost of tuition. Students rely heavily on grants and loans to help finance their education, but often it's just not enough. Alumni like Carol make all the difference by supporting both the Capital Campaign and the Annual Fund.
