Gretchen E. DiGeronimo, M.A., Ph.D., has been an educator since 1980, beginning her career as a high school teacher of English while completing her graduate studies at the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. She subsequently pursued teaching at the college level as an adjunct professor of English at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, while beginning her pursuit of her doctorate at the University of New Hampshire, where she also served as a teaching assistant and graduate associate.
Dr. DiGeronimo joined the full-time faculty at Becker College in 1998, where she has taught a variety of English course work within the humanities department. Throughout her education and teaching career, American literature has resonated strongly. She completed her doctoral dissertation on the novels of Charles Brockden Brown, whom many regard as one of the most accomplished U.S. novelists in the 1790s. Her experience in education has been teaching college writing, English composition, developmental writing, and effective communications. Her specialty area is American literature.
