Linda E. Denault, M.Ed., Ed.D., places a high value on public education. Prior to joining the Becker College faculty in 2005, she enjoyed a long and varied educational career in public schools, culminating with service as the superintendent for Palmer public schools and later as the interim superintendent for the Monson public schools, both in Massachusetts.
Dr. Denault has an extensive and successful track record as a curriculum coordinator, principal, and teacher in Massachusetts. Among her many accomplishments, she has worked closely with the Partnerships Advancing the Learning of Math and Science (PALMS) to secure one of the first PALMS grants in the state. She has been a member of the PALMS Higher Education Council and was recognized as a PALMS Teacher-Leader. She has also served on the faculty of Worcester State College, Fitchburg State College, and as a member of adjunct faculty at Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
When teaching her Becker College classes on literacy, mathematics, and science/social studies, which include pre-practicum supervision, Dr. Denault seeks to nurture in her students a love of teaching and the desire to do their best to help children learn and achieve their full potential. She also emphasizes the importance of having high standards and a strong work ethic.
Dr. Denault was an integral member of the team that developed the Becker College accelerated bachelor of arts in liberal arts program, which was launched in 2006 and leads to initial teacher licensure in elementary education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education, her master’s degree in education, and her certificate of advanced graduate study in leadership and administration from Worcester State College, and her doctorate in educational research, policy, and administration from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
