Computer Specification

All design students at Becker College are required to have a computer on campus. While no specific computer brand or model is required, a general specification and examples of suitable machines are provided.

Basic minimum specifications (Revised May 2012, pdc)

• Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (SP1), 64 bit Edition (SP2),
• Intel® Core™ i5-2520M Dual Core or faster, or AMD® equivalent (see specifications of models below)
• 4 – 8 GB RAM
• 10 GB free hard drive space
• Certified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card (see list below)
• 3-button mouse with mouse driver software
• DVD-ROM drive
• Internet Explorer 8 or higher or Firefox web browser
