Q: What is sports management, and what types of courses do students take?

Sports management focuses on the administration and management of sports facilities and organizations. Students who concentrate in sports management take courses that include sports administration and governance, personal and community health, sports finance, legal and ethical issues in sports, and sports marketing and event management.

Q: Are sports management students allowed to take other courses in general business topics?

Yes. Sports management students take a variety of courses in management, human resources, marketing, sales, accounting, economics, and international business.

Q:  Is there an opportunity to do an internship?

Yes. The sports management concentration requires students to do two internships that provide on-site training in the student’s area of interest.

Q: Is there an opportunity to study abroad?

Yes! Students who wish to pursue overseas courses and programs may do so, provided that they are pre-approved by the Office of Career Services and that they meet Becker College’s requirements for transfer credits. For more information, visit the career services webpage by clicking here.
