Professor of Animal Care
Division: Animal Science
Drew D. Howard joined the faculty of Becker College in 1978. Initially he was a full-time instructor in the veterinary technology program. He was instrumental in the establishment of the associate of science in animal care program and the bachelor of science in laboratory animal management program. These programs were developed in response to the need for college-educated individuals to be actively involved in training, boarding, showing, grooming, and numerous other animal-related fields.
Howard received a bachelor of science in biology at Keene State College, a master’s degree in animal science at Ohio State University, and a master’s degree in biology at Anna Maria College. Howard was formerly the operations manager of the Humane Society in Wichita, Kansas.
Howard believes in the need for a sound academic foundation in all of his students. One of his primary objectives is to provide students with the specific informational tools they need to apply their education to real life career experiences.
