Deborah Carroll graduated from the veterinary technician program at Becker College in 1996, upon completing her internship at a local veterinary practice. Following graduation, Carroll worked as a clinical veterinary technician and office manager at a private veterinary practice, and also spent time in their emergency clinic.

Carroll was later hired at a local veterinary practice specializing in small animal diagnostics. In her current position at Becker College, she is a clinical technician in the Lenfest Animal Clinic and assistant teacher in clinical labs.

Carroll has also worked as a certified medical assistant, phlebotomist, and EKG technician and is a licensed riding instructor, teaching 4-H for eight years.
