From the ancient Egyptians building pyramids to modern-day construction and manufacturing programs, it’s the project management process – and the project manager – that are the glue that holds the endeavor together from specification to final testing and deployment. Projects are how these organizations streamline to improve productivity. As mid-level management positions are reduced, project managers fill the void. Expertise in project management is a great way to advance a career.
Becker College’s Certificate in Project Management provides the knowledge and skills required to successfully initiate, plan, execute, control, and bring projects to a successful conclusion. Five courses encompass critical knowledge areas in project management to impart the tools necessary to succeed strategically in today’s increasingly competitive environment:
• Introduction to project management
• Project planning and control
• Project team management
• Influence, decision making and problem solving in project management
• Project management capstone
The certificate program is delivered online, with each of the courses spread over a seven-week time span. Students will earn up to 15 undergraduate college credits that may be transferred into a degree program at Becker College or other regionally accredited colleges or universities.
Unlike other programs, the Becker College Certificate in Project Management covers elements of human behavior, such as influence and decision making, which are skills that are essential for project managers to be successful.
Project managers provide a vital function in all industries, such as: heath care, government, education, manufacturing, and banking.
The Center for Accelerated and Professional Studies offers a rolling admission option; applications are accepted throughout the year.
