Meet the Admissions Counselors

The admissions counselors in the Center for Accelerated & Professional Studies are great resources for you.  While you are deciding if one of our programs is a good fit for you, they are there to answer your questions and meet with you one-on-one.  Once you meet with your admissions counselor, they can assist you with the application process and help you transition to your academic advisor.

Michelle is a new member of the accelerated team and happy to be wearing “Becker Blue.” Michelle comes from Le Cordon Bleu College where she was a senior admissions counselor. Previous to her experience in the higher education arena, she spent over 15 years working at USA TODAY as a senior account manager, working with colleges and universities across New England. The newspapers available in the Hawk’s Nest are Michelle’s handy work, a program she started with Becker College many years ago. She is glad to be back!

Beth Singley has been the senior marketing and recruitment manager for the Center for Accelerated  & Professional Studies since 2002. She enjoys encouraging adult students to start their educational journey at Becker College. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Muhlenberg College (Allentown, Pennsylvania) and earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Assumption College.  She has worked in the social service, corporate, and non-profit sectors. She will be happy to assist any new students who would like to earn a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree or certificate.

Amanda S. Walling is enjoying her first year as an admissions counselor in the accelerated program at Becker College. Amanda is a graduate of Medaille College in Buffalo, New York, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies.

Prior to her arrival at Becker College, Amanda was a sales representative for Scholastic Solutions, an independent franchise of Jostens. At Scholastic Solutions Amanda worked with high schools throughout New England to provide them with various product lines, as well as leadership and added-value initiatives.

Amanda is a native of South New Berlin, New York. She enjoys staying active, being outdoors and spending time with her animals.

Charise Wilson was formerly a career services and workforce development director. She has over 10 years of experience in higher education. Her exceptional student services skills comes from working at an area career training school. Other achievements include involvement with and presenting for The Massachusetts Association of Private Career Schools (MAPCS), a non-profit organization of institutions that offer career-specific training. Her prior experience includes working to secure student externships and employment opportunities. She is very involved with community volunteering and loves her family and puppy.

Janessa Vanegriff is a new member of the Center for Accelerated & Professional Studies team.  As a recent graduate of the Buffalo State College Masters Program of Higher Education, she is eager to begin her career with the Hawks.  Before Becker, Janessa managed Fitness 19, a fitness center located in Buffalo, New York that is recognized nationwide. On her free time she is an active runner, loves traveling, and has a passion for baking.
