The Online Gateway Program is designed to give students who need to take foundations math course, a head start before the fall semester begins.

Foundations Math

New students are required to take the Accuplacer Placement Test to determine the appropriate math course section for their first semester at the college. Normally, students are placed into college-level math courses during their first semester at Becker. If a student’s scores indicate more preparation is required, the student will be placed into a math foundations course for further support.

By participating in the Online Gateway Program, students are allowed to take the online math foundations course so that they can start their regularly scheduled math course in the fall semester. While these courses do not count toward graduation credit, their completion is required before moving to college level courses.

  • MATF 1001: Foundations for College Math
  • MATF 1002: Math for Health Sciences

In the online course, students work at their own pace to complete the course, with online tutorials, assistance from their instructor, and guidance from a peer mentor. Participation is free, however, students are required to purchase their textbook(s) for the class.
