Accuplacer Testing Registration Dates
Students who live within a two hour drive of the Worcester campus should plan to register online and complete accuplacer testing onsite. (Students living more than two hours away from campus may opt to test at their local high school or a college that administers accuplacer testing. For assistance with scheduling an offsite accuplacer test contact Michael Perron, Dean of Admissions, at (508) 373-9400 or at email@example.com.
The test can last from 30 minutest to 3 hours. A calculator is provided. Students complete their test(s) in one test session. Students who need additional time will be allowed to complete their tests either during a second test session offered on the same day (when available) or re-register for another test session date. The Accepted Student Checklist Testing Waiver letter you should have received from Becker College Admissions upon acceptance includes your newly assigned student identification number and will identify which test(s) you need to take. Please contact Michael Perron, Dean of Admissions, in the Admissions office if you have not received the Accepted Student Checklist Testing Waiver letter you should have received from Becker College upon acceptance.
Although transfer students and first-year students who graduated from high school more than one year ago are not required to submit official SAT/ACT test score results as part of the admissions process, students are encouraged to do so as these scores may waive them from taking the required math Accuplacer exam.
If extra accommodations are required please call ahead so arrangements can be made. Contact Lauren Christy, Accuplacer Scheduling Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 508.373.9728 with questions, cancellations, or requests for special accommodation (documentation required).
Students who spend an appropriate amount of time preparing for the test always achieve their best possible score versus students who do not prepare. In addition, you will feel more confident on the day of your test.
About the test…
The Accuplacer MATH test includes an elementary Algebra test.
Depending upon your Algebra test score a second test may be completed (either an Arithmetic test or a College Level Math test).
About the Algebra test…
Your math course placement for your first semester will be primarily based on your Algebra test score and/or your Arithmetic test score. So remember to include a review of your Algebra and Arithmetic skills. It may have been awhile since you have worked with integers and rationals, and algebraic expressions and equations or fractions, percentages, decimals, and metric units, etc.
