  • Student email (
  • Wired and wireless Networks in Residence Halls for computers and game consoles
  • Connection to Internet
  • Computer laboratories:
    • Software applications approved by Academic Affairs
    • Maintain Labs
    • Fix printer jams
    • Help maintain paper supply for printers
    • Hardware, including:
      • PCs
      • Printers
      • Plotters
      • Scanners
    • Troubleshoot problems with accounts such as password or access issues
  • Help with logging into Student systems like e-mail, Canvas, Starfish, myBecker and the network

Unfortunately, We are unable to provide:

  • Tutoring
    • If you need more assistance on a software application, try the following resources:
      • Your instructor for applications used for class
      • Take a class in the subject you are interested in
      • Online help from the vendor or Press Function Key “F1″ for help from the application
  • Maintenance or Upgrades on personal computers, laptops, gaming systems or other personal systems. Please contact the vendor or service organization where you purchased your system.
  • Troubleshooting application or hardware problems
  • Give out cables, network cards, or other hardware devices


The Office of Information technology can assist you with access to key applications you will use at Becker, including:

Connecting to the Network

A network authentication and validation security system is in place to prevent “infected” computer systems such as laptops or desktops from gaining access to the network and infecting other systems. This will help to ensure a safe, secure and reliable network for all of us. For Students and Guests, ClearPass OnGuard is required on your computer when you access Becker's wireless or wired network. Validating and Updating

Each time you log into the Becker College network, the ClearPass OnGuard will automatically validate your system configurations to ensure that you have current operating system patches, anti-virus and other security updates.

If the validation is successful, you will be logged onto the network.

If the validation is not successful, you will be directed to a remediation site to install or update your Antivirus. You need to update your system or security files at that time. Depending on the security updates, you may need to reboot your computer several times.

Computer Labs

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) supports computer resource areas for the College. Except for units designated for special purposes, all units allow student access to the Internet, email, and Microsoft Office. Each area has its own network printer and paper supplies. Some of the software products supported are: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, PhotoShop, SPSS, Flash, and AutoCAD. Every classroom has high-speed access to the Internet. Each student receives his or her own account and password for email.  You may access your Becker College student email account by going to the student email system.

The Arnold C. Weller Jr. Academic Building on the Worcester campus has general-purpose labs of different sizes for classes and student use. This building also houses computer labs with testing software, general-purpose units located in the library, and units located in the Centers for Academic Success. The Health Science Education Center has three classroom labs used for classes pertaining to those majors. The Borger Academic Building on the Leicester campus has one large general-purpose lab for class and student use in addition to a smaller lab for student use and the Swan Library has general-purpose units.

If you are unable to find the information you need on our web site, please contact the Help Desk at  800.630.8986. The Help Desk is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

If you need assistance in person, the Office of Information Technology’s Worcester Office is located at 60 William Street.

It is open from 9 AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, to assist students with general needs.
