Reporting to the Director of Residence Life and Conduct, the Area Coordinator fosters a safe, positive, and inclusive community environment that encourages students to develop their full potential. This is a 12-month live-in position.
Responsibilities include supervising three or more residence halls; providing orientation, training, supervision, and regular evaluation of one or more Graduate Resident Directors (GRD) and a staff of Resident Assistants; participating in the selection, training and evaluation of staff; overseeing programming model, implementation and budget; chairing one or more department wide initiatives; participating in on-call duty rotation; responding to crisis and/or emergency situations daily, evenings and weekends and providing appropriate post-crisis referrals; conducting developmental conversations and writing decision letters relating to student conduct code violations; assisting with the investigation and resolution of discipline matters; managing the day-to-day operations of the residence hall including the reporting of any facility, safety, and security needs; utilizing on-line system to submit and follow up on work orders; working directly with facilities staff to resolve maintenance issues; assisting with roommate conflicts, housing placements, conflicts, room changes and updating housing information; communicating information on policies, procedures and other information to students via one-one conversation, e-mail and social media; supervising hall staff in the coordination of all hall openings and closings; coordinating key distribution and collection; providing daily contact and problem resolution for parents, students and others with respect to residential issues; serving as a resource for students and staff; advising and counseling students in crisis; assisting in the coordination and development of intentional programmatic initiatives and services; preparing weekly narrative reports, duty reports and semester reports; maintaining weekly office hours; collaborating with departmental and college offices such as Campus Police, Counseling Services, Academic Affairs, Health Services, Facilities, and Campus Activities; and, representing the department at on and off campus events as needed.
Bachelors and Master’s degree required. One- two years of recent Residence Life experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills desired.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Activities and Leadership Development This position works within the Office of Campus Activities & Student Leadership Development (CASL) to provide quality educational and social programming which supports the mission of the College. Responsibilities include overseeing student club and organization development (serve as primary contact once clubs are recognized and established- for financial support, advisor questions, coordination for club fairs, paperwork, etc.); assuming responsibility for the fiscal management and monitoring of finances associated with all clubs, including budget development and allocations, student organization and programming expenses and all contracts and negotiations with outside vendors; coordinate mandatory training workshops for student clubs and organizations and advisors; coordinating club banquet and leadership/involvement awards for student organizations; assuming responsibility for the electronic platforms of the CASL office including: weekly Constant Contact newsletter, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and all Becker College web pages associated with CASL; directly advising ALANA, Gay Straight Alliance, Senior Class Officers and Commuter Council and assist in the development of the clubs’ growth and expansion; coordinating service opportunities and activities for student clubs and organizations and CASL; coordinating summer programming for the Gateway program (summer bridge program); supporting and assisting the summer orientation program; serving on the CASL programming on-call schedule rotation; developing and executing assessment for areas/programs of responsibility and assess for student learning outcomes in those areas; managing the reservation system for the Fuller Campus Center facilities and conference rooms; and, participating and supporting of campus special events such as Family Weekend, Week of Welcome, Spring Ball, Winter Carnival, and Spring Fest.
A master’s in higher education or related field and a minimum of two years of campus activities, campus center management and/or student leadership development experience required. Strong fiscal management, interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, creativity, organization skills, technology and audio visual media skills, and a good sense of humor desired.
Reporting to the Director of Career Services, this position supports the director and office in developing a comprehensive four year career development program that prepares Becker students for fulfilling career paths after graduation. Responsibilities include developing and delivering career counseling and coaching to students and alumni; administering and interpreting career instruments including Strong Interest Inventory, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, FOCUSII and others; encouraging, developing and promoting internships to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors; creating and implementing a campus wide tracking system; assisting the Director in developing and implementing a four year career development plan in conjunction with academic affairs; identifying and developing specialized programming to meet specific major and student needs; organizing, scheduling, and coordinating on campus recruiting activities for employers and students; developing and maintaining databases of employer, student, and program information, ensuring accuracy; providing statistics and completing information reports; providing assistance for students and alumni interested in further education (graduate and other professional schools); working with faculty to assess the need for classroom presentations, including senior capstone and portfolio classes; assisting students with job and internship search techniques, resume preparation, interviewing strategies, networking, and graduate school applications; providing information to academic departments regarding trends and employment market through regular meetings with stakeholders; creating opportunities for students and employers to interact through networking, information sessions and employer visits; updating Career Center materials with current publications in relevant career fields; and, assisting with the annual collection of graduation outcomes and post-graduate plans of alumni.
A master’s degree and one to three years of career advising experience required. Knowledge of career selection practices and procedures; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all stakeholders on campus and represent Becker to external constituencies with professionalism; and, database and report preparation skills desired.
Reporting to the Vice-President of Student Affairs, the Director of Career Services provides overall direction, leadership and strategic vision for the department within the context of the College’s Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Community and Diversity, Social Responsibility, Integrity and Creative Expression. Responsibilities include coordinating activities and managing all aspects of the department, cultivation and development of relationships with business and industry contacts, creation and implementation of a four year, developmentally appropriate career and professional development program in order to support campus objectives for student retention, program completion, and graduate placement. The Director must demonstrate current experience, awareness of best practice, and knowledge of: employment trends, job market, internships, and experiential programs; employer relations and cultivation; and professional and graduate school advising. This position must work cooperatively with all other areas in Student Affairs and with faculty to develop discipline-specific programs, and foster partnerships with alumni to develop and expand internship and employment opportunities.
A master’s degree required in higher education or related field; four- six years in increasingly responsible and professional roles; successful experience with professional staff supervision, employer relations and a two campus system preferred. An established record of excellent leadership and mentoring relationships with students, collegial relationships with staff and faculty, and strong written and oral communications skills, particularly with students and their parents, are required; outstanding organizational, management and technology skills and a sense of humor are essential for success in this role; and, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment using time-management principles.

Becker College seeks to fill a full-time faculty position in Graphic Design and Interactive Media, starting August 2012.
Successful candidates will have the terminal degree or its equivalent in graphic design, animation or digital media as well as college-level teaching experience. Ideal candidates will be primarily graphic designers specializing in digital, interactive and user-centered design with related professional experience and thorough computer/software knowledge. The College seeks educators who will encourage innovation and process development while teaching practical concepts of the design industry as a constant element. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching and developing online classwork. Candidates should be specialists who are able to teach undergraduate and graduate levels of web, mobile, interactive, interaction, and user-centered design. Proficiencies with current industry standard software programs, languages and web standards are required.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A one-year renewable position will be considered.

Successful candidates will have an earned Ph.D. (or near completion) or a Masters in Computer Science or a closely related field with research and teaching interests involving interactions between computer science and interactive digital entertainment. Subjects of interest include computer graphics, real-time interactive simulation, aspects of computer networking in online computer gaming, artificial intelligence, game software design and development, serious gaming, mobile graphics. Teaching introductory computer programming courses will also be expected. Relevant industry experience is desirable. A commitment to teaching excellence and scholarship is expected.

Reporting to the Area Coordinator, this position is a live-in 10 month graduate assistantship beginning July 28, 2013 and ending May 28, 2014
Responsibilities include managing one, two or three small houses of residents; assisting in the development and execution of residence hall procedures and goals; attending weekly residence life department meetings; conducting weekly RA staff meetings and regular 1:1 RA supervision meetings; assisting with the recruiting, training, supervision and evaluation of Resident Assistants; assuming a leadership role with one or more annual programs that support the department (e.g.; RA selection, RA in-service trainings, winter and spring training, housing selection); participate in opening and closing, occupancy checks, health and safety inspections and manage facilities issues; prepare reports, updating and/or developing materials; developing and executing programs for residents that build community; supporting and enforcing all college, division and departmental policies and regulations; adjudicating lower level student conduct cases, dependent upon prior experience; Actively attending and participating in departmental committees and meetings; serving in on-call duty rotation to respond to student crises and other emergencies; and, maintaining 10-15 consistent and advertised office hours per week in the residence hall.
Applicants must be enrolled full time in a graduate program in higher education, student affairs administration, and/or counseling. Related concentrations considered based on previous experience. All candidates must have previous residence life and/or student leadership experiences.

Full-time adjunct nursing faculty and full-time clinical facilitator positions available on the Worcester Campus.
M.S.N.; three years of medical surgical nursing, maternity, or psychiatric practice experience within the last five years.
M.S.N. or B.S.N.; two years medical surgical experience within the last five years, Massachusetts license, and a strong interest in the growth of the Becker College nursing program.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this position has the responsibility to coordinate and implement the RN to BSN program. The Coordinator supports student achievement of the defined educational learning outcomes through coordination of the planned program of learning. The position will have responsibilities in the areas of teaching, evaluation of student learning, establishment and maintenance of clinical practicum sites, program recruitment and advisement, and compliance with the NLNAC Standards for program accreditation.
A minimum of an MSN is required. An earned doctorate is preferred. Registered nurse licensure in MA, a minimum of three years of full-time experience in nursing or its equivalent within the last eight years, and, administrative experience appropriate to the position responsibilities.
