Timely Warnings Policy
In the event that a situation arises – either on- or off-campus – which, in the judgment of the Becker College campus police chief, constitutes an ongoing or continuing threat, a campus-wide “timely warning” will be issued. The campus police chief, or designee, is responsible for the dissemination of this information. The Becker College community will be informed of known criminal activity, whether on- or off-campus, that may impact the safety or security of members of the College community through memoranda to all College students and personnel, notices on College bulletin boards, and/or by the College computer and email system.
Depending on the particular circumstances of a crime, especially in all situations that could pose an immediate threat to the community and/or individuals, the Becker College Police Department may also post a notice on the “campus alerts” page on the Becker College Police Department web page to provide the College community with more immediate notification. In these instances, a copy of the notice will be posted in each residence hall on both campuses, on all available bulletin boards in all academic buildings, and within the student services offices on each campus. The “campus alerts” page is immediately accessible via computer by all members of the Becker College community.
Anyone with information warranting a timely warning should report the circumstances to the Becker College Police Department on either campus, by phone at 508.373.9555, or in person at the dispatch center located within Boutin Hall at 38 Roxbury Street, Worcester, Mass.
